Fruit Yogurt Parfait
I know I’m trying to get healthier with concoction of healthy servings of fresh fruits to battle toxins and aging…sigh!...yes, age is catching up. We have to ensure we get sufficient Vit-C and antioxidants to keep free radicals away.
Here’s something pretty easy to throw together
Strawberries, cut into chunks
Kiwis, cut into chunks
Mango, cubed or peaches (fresh or canned)
Blueberries
250ml plain yogurt
Get a tall fancy glass, throw in some blueberries (blue layer), layer with 2 tbsp of yoghurt (you can use flavoured yoghurt like strawberries or blueberries too, if you prefer), add in some cubed mangoes (yellow/orange layer), add in 2 tbsp of yoghurt, throw in some cubed kiwis (green layer) and another layer of yoghurt and finished off topped with red juicy strawberries (red).
Garnish with a mint leave and served chilled.
Isn’t that pretty and colourful?
Kids will like this too and this will ensure the little ones get enough colourful fruits into their diet - plentiful of Vitamin C and anti-oxidants!
Note : “…researchers have found that blueberries help protect the brain from oxidative stress and may reduce the effects of age-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Researchers found that diets rich in blueberries significantly improved both the learning capacity and motor skills…” The World’s Healthiest Foods
Check it out the nutritional benefits of
Mango (Oh, Mango not listed on WhFoods…never mind I threw them in for colours and I love mangoes…lol!)
Have a fun and colourful weekend. Get colourful and stay healthy!
